Life in Vermont is beautiful, but for me a watercolor painter, the ever-changing New England landscape offers great joy and the daily challenges of its infinite subject matter and varied light.
Although I sprinkled some painting in while raising a big family,I now paint full-time since my retirement in 2006.I am a regular at a twice-weekly painting session with fellow artists in Andover, Vermont. I primarily work from my own digital pictures, but I take time for some plein air painting as well. My paintings are an interpretation of the places I visit and the vistas I capture around my home, garden and beyond.
I earned an art degree from Iowa State University and have taken several watercolor workshops from well-known and not-so-well-known watercolorists over the years. I feel my work is still evolving and I find the journey totally fulfilling and exciting.
My art affiliations include: the Vermont Watercolor Society; the Southern Vermont Arts Center; the Andover Artisans; and the Keene Artists Association. Recent exhibits include: the Artisan's Gallery, Waitsfield; the Hunter Gallery of Fine Art, Grafton; SVAC, Manchester; the Miller Art Gallery, Springfield, the West River Gallery, Weston; and the Claremont Opera House, Claremont, NH |
