![]() "Norma" Portrait of Norma Safford courtesy of Richard Whitney Norma Safford This gallery is dedicatate to Norma Safford, a woman whose reputation as an artist and teacher lives on. She is especially well remembered by the Keene Art Association.
Upon retiring Norma became very active and supportive of the Keene Art Association (K.A.A.). This year will mark the 49th Anniversary of "Art in the Park" which was Norma's idea. Another dream of Norma's was having a gallery for the members of the K.A.A. She was instrumental in forming the relationship the Colony Mill Marketplace and K.A.A. through her former student and Colony Mill founder Emile J. Legere. so that members can display their work there, this virtual space is the result of Norma Safford's generosity and support of fellow artists.
Norma was a native of Keene, N.H. and graduated from Syracuse University. Her work is in a variety of mediums including oils, watercolor, and acrylics. Her love of nature is seen in her paintings.
